
Mr. Kamal Morarka, the President of Samajwadi Janta Party (Chandrashekhar), was born on June 18, 1946 in a traditional Marwari family. As a child, he was an extraordinary in his learning and interests. Having a keen and high observing power, he focused on things that come in their contact. Having touch with farmers and laborers, he decided to do something for the uplift of the poor.
For his primary education, Mr. Morarka went to Cathedral & John Cannon School, and after that, he joined St. Xavier College, Bombay for his higher education. From his childhood days, he has been very ambitious to gain proper knowledge about how to take India to the path of progress and development. For building its clear and strong ideology about the development of the country, he chose subjects and courses regarding management, development and technology to give their aims a real touch. In his student life, he has been a keen student of Management and during his college days, he participated in several key management programs and conferences done to spread awareness, knowledge and skills in the field.
After completing his education, he decided to serve his country and countrypersons with his keen desire and great skills related to Management, Development and Technology. With his skills and dedication in the field, he became a member of the American Management Association. In the series of the development and management campaigns, he attended the Davos Symposium of the World Economic Forum in 1985 and continued this till 1987.
He went ahead with his mission, and in 1997 he attended an Executive Program for Leaders that was based on development, management of political and economic transitions at John F Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. This all proves his global approach in this domain. His curiosity to know more about the society, dedication to do for it and honesty with his working style took him to the present position of a socialist, and as a socialist, he made different works by making great efforts.
Private Sector:
Mr. Morarka is a chairman of Morarka Organic, a Private organization that generally offers services in food processing. Being a chairperson of the organization, he always tries to value the quality of food and took several efforts to improve the agricultural system of India.
In the field of Games and Sports, his fair ideology and dedication took him to the great position in cricket board. He got a chance to serve their country in this field too. He became the vice President of Rajasthan Cricket Association. He also got a chance to make valued efforts for games at the national and international level when he became the Vice President of Board of Control for Cricket in India. He actively played a dominant role in this domain too.
Political Career
To serve his country, Mr. Morarka decided to enter the politics, and he has played an active role as a member of Rajya Sabha from Rajasthan in 1988.
In 1990 when Chandrashekhar became the Prime Minister, Mr. Kamal Morarka became Minister of State and served people from 1990 to 1991.
In 2012 Samajwadi Janta Party (Chandrashekhar) was established after being broken away from Janata Dal. Samajwadi Janata Party was originated under the leadership of Chandrashekhar and Devi Lal. The party came into its existence and was led by him till his death. After it, Mr. Kamal Morarka became the head of Samajwadi Janata Party (Chandrashekhar). Skills of leadership, interest in social activities and his patriotism proved the suitability of Mr. Morarka for the position of head of Samajwadi Party.
As a businessman too, he has contributed the economy and development of India. Starting many manufacturing units in different parts of India, he created and opened a lot of options for employment for young job seekers. He heads a large Gannon Dunkerley Group which is engaged in different units like Civil Engineering, Mechanical and General Engineering, Turnkey Water Treatment Plants, Manufacturing of Material Handling Equipment. As an enthusiastic industrialist, he is active to make India, richer in terms of the domestic production and employments. During 1989 to 1990, he had been the president of all India Manufacturers organizations. He earned the name to be presidents and vice presidents of many organizations and committees in the industries.
Social and Community Services:
With his enthusiastic and ambitious ideas to build a strong, prosper and honest society, he throughout his life remained involved in social and community development activities. He has been playing a role of active and dominating Chairman of M.R Morarka-GDC Rural Research Foundation. The organization is actively engaged in rural area development, for which it covers more than 250 villages of the Shekhawati region in the state of Rajasthan. Under the chairmanship of Mr. Morarka, the foundation aims at utilizing appropriately the government funds and subsidies to all facilities of the region such as education, primary health, agriculture extension and research, conservation of heritage etc. with all its perspectives, the foundation under the guidance of Mr. Morarka is positively making great impacts on the lives of rural, laborer and agricultural communities across India. This foundation works on the philosophy that inspires people for resource management in rural background.
As a multitalented personality, he fulfilled the responsibilities by holding various reputed posts in many private and government organizations. He is the President of the World Trade Centre, Bombay. Apart from that he has been an active member of many other boards and communities like Board of Management of Bombay, Hospital Trust and Medical research Centre, University of Bombay Board of Studies in Trade, Transport and Industry. Moreover, he has been a Trustee of Shree Nawalgarh Pinjrapole Committee for a long time. In this series, he is also a Trustee of Nawalgarh Devastan Kosh.
Public Life:
Doubtlessly Mr. Morarka has been a social person at heart, and so he has been a member of various organizations in his life. During 1970 to 1980, he joined several government Committees like Refectories Panel, Government of India, Standing Committee of the State Advisory Council of Industries, Government of Maharashtra (1978-82), Governing Body of National Productivity Council (1978-80), State Advisory Board of Tourism, Government of Maharashtra (1979-82), etc.
In 1988, Mr. Morarka became a member of Rajya Sabha from Rajasthan. During the Government of Chandrashekhar, he was made the Minister of State. As he has a vast knowledge and keen interest in economics, so he always played a dominant role by participating in almost every significant debate done on Finance Bill, Budget, and other activities during his tenure in the Rajya Sabha.
Apart from that, he became a member of the committee on Public Undertakings (1988-90) and the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament (1990-91), Consultative Committee attached to the Ministry of Finance, Central Direct Taxes Advisory Committee. He remained an active member of Ministry of Finance (1992-93). And in (1993-93), he was awarded the membership of Newsprint Advisory Committee.

Kamal Murarka is a resourceful personality who assimilates different human qualities, vast knowledge and dedicated working approach. We can apparently watch different kinds of skills, capabilities and interests in him. In his character, his socialism, industrialism, the desire for the poor uplift, rural development, patriotism and many other things are emerged well. He has a great approach to the political and economical background. He has been a good reader and writer; he has published several articles on political and economic affairs of the country to provide a great awareness in the society.
