Pradeep Gopalakrishnan, born on 13th day of 1962 as the Eldest son of Late Shri E. Gopalakrishnan, Senior Executive of Union Bank of India and The Federal Bank Ltd, and Smt. G. Radha at Kollam.
Had Schooling from St. Josephs Convent School, St. Aloysius English School, Craven LMS High School at Kollam. College Education from Shree Narayana College, Kollam and Kerala Law Academy Law College, Thiruvananthapuram.
Married to Smt. Bindu Pradeep. Two Children. Son Venugopal G Pradeep, Practicing Advocate at Courts in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Daughter Veena G Pradeep, Working with a National NGO at Chennai.
Political Activities
Actively participated in Student and Youth Organizations connected with Total Revolution Movements of Seventies under the Leadership of Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan. Courted Police Arrest in while participating in a poster protest on 25th June 1975 the day of Emergency Declaration at the age of 13.
Was an active fellow traveller of Vidyarthi Janata and Yuva Janata from 1979 to 1989. Participated in the Bharath Yathra during its tourage through Kerala and Tamil Nadu. District Secretary and the reafter State General Secretary of Socialist Party formed by Lokbandhu Raj Narayanan and Com. Shiva Rama Bharathi, Parliamentary Party Leader of Samyuktha Socialist Party in Kerala Assembly.
When that Party merged with Janata Dal took leave from Political activities and concentrated in Family business of Wood Industry, Sheet Metal Fabrication and Civil Engineering. Returned back to Politics by organizing the Kerala State Unit of Samajwadi Party under the Presidentship of Late Com. G. Gopinatha Pillai Deputy Leader, Parliamentary Party of Samyuktha Socialist Party as its General Secretary during 2000.
Resigned from Samajwadi Party due to certain indifferences in its tie up with certain organizations during 2004.Concentrated in writings and propagation of Lohia Socialist Ideology. Joined Socialist Party (India) as its founder State General Secretary when it was formed under the Presidentship of Com Bhai Vaidya during 2012.
Formed a New Socialist Party namely Progressive Socialist Party along with workers from various Political Parties in 2015.
Thereafter on merging of Progressive Socialist Party with Samajwadi Janata Party Chandrashekhar- during 2018 and assumed the post of its State Unit President.
Now working as the National General Secretary of Samajwadi Janata Party – Chandrashekhar lead by Com. Shyamji Tripathi ji
Associated with many Social Cultural and Service Organizations. President – Lohya Darshana Vedi, Multiple Paul Haris Fellow of Rotary International.
President of Rotary Club, Ottapalam, Charter President of Rotary Club of Ottapalam Central, Rotract District Co-Chairman etc. State Working President and National Executive Member, Hind Mazdoor Kisan Panchayath.
